  • Austin Butler as James Garrett (9 episodes, Main Season 4)
    • Sean Flynn is a main character for Seasons 1 through 3. During Season 4, he was written out as a main character. Sean Flynn left to focus on school but years later regretted it. He was replaced by Austin Butler. Despite leaving, Sean returned to reprise his role as Chase in the series finale, Chasing Zoey.
  • Kristin Herrera as Dana Cruz (13 episodes, Main Season 1)
  • Victoria Justice as Lola Martinez (50 episodes, Main Seasons 2-4)
    • Herrera was unceremoniously fired from Zoey 101 after Season 1 ends because producers think she is too old to continue acting. She appears in flashbacks in Season 3 "PCA Confidential." Justice replaces Herrera throughout the remaining series.
  • Alexa Nikolas as Nicole Bristow (26 episodes, Main Seasons 1-2)
    • Nikolas was fired Zoey 101 after Season 2 ends following numerous off-screen fights with Jamie Lynn. Alongside Herrera, Nikolas appears in flashbacks in Season 3 "PCA Confidential."

Also, the results are comical when Dustin mistakenly taste-tests Quinn's latest creation: a highly intense energy drink.
