Jet X is the sixth episode in Season 1 and the sixth overall episode in the Nickelodeon TV series Zoey 101. The episode aired on February 13, 2005.

Plot

Zoey, Nicole and Dana are always over-sleeping and are late to class. One day, they manage to avoid repurcussions by having Chase and Michael fake a fight to distract Mr. Bender long enough for the girls to beat him to class. On this particular day, Mr. Bender's friend Jake Savage, offers the class the chance to win a free Jet X. All they have to do is split up into teams and create a Jet X commercial that Jake will judge, with the winning team having their commercial put on the air one hundred times, in addition to a Jet X each.

Logan and his team, of Chase and Michael, work on their commercial with fancy video equipment and famous actors. However, Logan refuses to listen to his teammate's advice or two cents and eventually takes full charge of the commercial without his teammates.

Meanwhile Zoey and her team struggle to create something that will beat Logan. Dana directs (and Quinn films) their initial commercial consisting of Zoey riding along on a Jet X, and stopping by Nicole, who asks if it's a motorcycle or a scooter, and Zoey replies it's a Jet X. The three find this setting lame, and get into a heated argument about it, which ends with them splitting up to film individual commercials. The trio's individual commercials are even worse.

Eventually the girls reconcile, and they spend the night going over all their footage, in an attempt to scrap something together. The three decide they still don't have sufficient material to make a suitable commercial, when they realize that their argument was filmed as well, because Quinn couldn't figure out how to turn the camera off.

Just as they're about to give up as they need to get to class, Zoey stays behind, realizing that, during the argument, each one of them had mentioned a positive attribute to the Jet X: Dana had mentioned speed and being in control; Nicole had mentioned being cool and getting noticed; and Zoey had mentioned freedom and independence to go wherever whenever. Zoey quickly puts together clips of each girl's argumentative attribute, with some added graphics and clips from their other footage, to create her team's official commercial.

In the end, Logan's commercial made with lots of money is impressive, but Zoey's commercial relates to teens and helps describe what the Jet X is all about. Thus, Mr. Savage is most impressed with Zoey's commercial, and the girls win the contest, with the Jet X's, and their commercial will hit the airwaves.

Trivia

• Paul Butcher (Dustin Brooks) did not appear in this episode.
• This episode has the shortest title than any other episode, with 4 letters.
• When Zoey, Nicole and Dana are relentlessly getting ready to go to class, the chorus for the music "Permanent Midnight by Saucy Monky" is heard in the background. The full song is used in the end of Zoey's Ribs.
• A toy that resembles Bop it Extreme 2 appears.
• Despite their argument, Zoey discovered a way to use those in describing what a Jet X should be about, which lead the three to winning them.

Goofs

• When all the girls decide that it was a better idea for them to work on their project together, Zoey says that it's only 11:00, and that they still have 10 hours until class starts. That would mean that class starts at 9:00, which is incorrect. Class starts at 8:00, meaning that they would only have 9 hours until class starts.
• When Zoey, Nicole and Dana are watching their clips, the way Nicole catches the script is different than when it was actually filmed.
• When the commercials are presented, Zoey is late, but she doesn't get in trouble though it is likely that the teacher didn't care that she was late.
